MPSC Performance Monitoring Series:
Demystifying the Transplant Program Performance Review Process

Background

The Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) performs performance reviews on transplant programs that are identified as possibly underperforming using the Bayesian methodology. There are many myths and misunderstandings associated with the performance review process due to the fact that only members that have been identified as possibly underperforming go through the process, and the performance review process is mistakenly linked to other compliance reviews. The MPSC Performance Monitoring Series began with instruction surrounding the new Bayesian methodology for identifying potential underperforming programs. Now that programs know how they are identified, the next step is instructing on how performance reviews occur. The performance review process is not changing; this instruction is based on the current MPSC process.

Program Goal

The goal of the performance monitoring electronic toolkit is to educate transplant programs on the current MPSC performance review process.

The goal of the virtual town hall event is to provide a venue for transplant programs to ask clarifying questions about the current MPSC performance review process.
