Effective today, UNOS has made changes to enhance the Secure EnterpriseSM system, which includes UNet and other transplant applications. The changes will allow you to access UNet applications using Internet Explorer® 11 (IE11).
What you need to do
We recommend that you upgrade to modern operating systems (e.g. Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1) and the latest version of IE.
UNOS will support the use of IE8, 9 and 10 for the next several months, but we plan to terminate support for these browsers as we expand the browser options available for UNet to include Chrome.
Please review the details below or forward this notice to the appropriate IT staff at your organization.
Beginning on January 12, 2016, Microsoft® announced it will only provide technical support and security updates to the most current version of Internet Explorer.
Microsoft will no longer release security updates for outdated browsers, which means that online hackers may be able to take advantage of security vulnerabilities and use them to break into your system or steal information you transmit over the Internet. Additionally, beginning in April 2016, Google Chrome will no longer be updated on Windows Vista.
Your specific upgrade options depend on your Windows computer Operating System (OS) and whether or not your organization is using any applications that depend on IE8. The table below illustrates options for your consideration:
Windows OS Browser Supported by Microsoft after Jan. 12, 2016
Windows XP None. This OS is no longer supported by Microsoft.
Windows Vista None. The OS is in extended support by Microsoft until April 2017.
Windows 7, Windows 8 / 8.1 IE11
Windows 10 IE11. UNOS does not support Microsoft Edge at this time.
Note: We recommend that you call your technical support providers before downloading IE11.
