Some transplant programs hire transplant professionals that are not employed at their hospital to serve as organ acceptance consultants. These consultants need access to UNet in order to perform their task, but your program’s UNet site administrator can only grant them access if the consultant already exists in the UNOS membership database.
When hiring an organ acceptance consultant, be sure to enter them into the UNOS membership database. When entering the information, be sure to classify them as General-public at large, not as an employee of your hospital. Once you have entered the information into the database, your site administrator will be able to arrange access to UNet for that consultant.
