Director of IT Customer Advocacy
As Director of IT Customer Advocacy, Amy Putnam works to further strengthen the connection between UNOS and its community of internal and external customers, providing channels for members to recommend improvements to services and identify opportunities to deliver innovative solutions. In addition, she leads TransNet, UNOS’ innovative technology platform that helps ensure donated organs are matched correctly and efficiently with the identified recipient.
Putnam joined UNOS’ department of member quality in 2006 as manager of survey services and was named assistant director of the department in 2011. She then was asked to join IT’s TransNet project and lead its customer advocacy efforts and, in that capacity, she and her team established a highly successful customer council. Previously, she was a medical social worker in the department of care coordination at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center in Richmond.
She has two master’s degrees from VCU, one in social work and the other in business administration.
