NLRB, liver distribution implementation postponed
The committee is working to replace the local Donation Service Area (DSA) and region as specific units of distribution with an alternative geographic framework. As a result, neither the NLRB nor the previously approved liver distribution policy will be implemented in 2018 as originally scheduled.
Board approves enhanced liver distribution system
A set of policy amendments was approved to reduce geographic differences in liver transplant candidates’ access to a timely transplant.
Compromise liver proposal to advance for board consideration
The OPTN/UNOS Liver and Intestinal Organ Transplantation Committee, at its meeting Oct. 10, voted to advance a compromise proposal to enhance liver distribution for a final vote by the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors.
