Terumo Cardiovascular Systems Corporation (Terumo CVS) has issued a recall notice for units of the SarnsTM High-flow Aortic Arch Cannula and Sarns Flexible Arterial Cannula. While Terumo CVS states it has received no actual patient injury reports, certain production lots have a foreign substance on the outside of some cannulae connectors which could dislodge and have the potential to result in patient injury. Again, while Terumo CVS states it has received no actual patient injury reports, certain production lots have a foreign substance on the inner surface of some cannulae tips that could dislodge and have the potential to result in patient injury.
