The OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors recently approved a policy change that requires OPOs to use a new sterile internal vessels label. The new label reorganizes and reduces the data fields related to infectious disease results. Beginning September 1, 2015, you must sterilize the new label and place it on the vessels’ sterile rigid container. The hangtag polyplastic orange and white label that you apply to the outermost layer has not changed.
