UNOS Director of Member Quality will speak at TMF on being a partner in performance improvement
2017 saw the kickoff of a three-year Member Quality and OPTN Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) optimization plan based on five strategic anchors: improvement, sustainability, consistency, education and efficiency. At this year’s 27th annual Transplant Management Forum, UNOS Director of Member Quality Jacqueline O’Keefe will present an overview of the Optimization Plan and explain Member Quality’s role as a performance improvement partner. Some of these changes have already been implemented and others are planned for the next three years. O’Keefe’s session will take place Wednesday May 15, and UNOS staff will be on hand to share some anticipated technology advances and also seek feedback on how UNOS and members can work together to improve the monitoring process.
O’Keefe will present a second time at TMF, this time joined by Deborah Maurer, RN, MBA, VP of Transplant Services at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston. Their Wednesday breakout session (which repeats) focuses on best practices issues that could happen to any member organization. Maurer is a transplant administrator who has served on both sides of the MPSC table–she will speak to the benefits of each experience.
