The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) is hosting a webinar for lung transplant professionals on Nov. 15, 2023, from 4 – 5:00 p.m. ET. The webinar will address upcoming data collection changes for lung candidates, part of which the OPTN will implement in early December 2023. Other key points of discussion will include highlights from the six-month monitoring of the implementation of continuous distribution of lungs and the development of lung offer filters.
There will be time for questions from the audience. A recording will be made available afterward.
The OPTN Lung Transplantation Committee sponsored the proposal Update Data Collection for Lung Mortality Models, which was approved by the OPTN Board of Directors on Dec. 5, 2022. Members can find more information in the policy notice. Specific implementation dates will be communicated to members at a later date.
