Webinar recording available: Organ donation and transplant town hall

More than 1,000 organ donation and transplant professionals from around the world convened on March 23 in a town hall webinar aimed at helping health care professionals navigate the ever-evolving COVID-19 health crisis. The webinar was organized by the American Society of Transplantation along with representatives from nearly a dozen other organizations. A recording is now available.

Patient safety portal reporting

Remember to report any suspected transplant-related disease transmissions through the Patient Safety Portal so that information can be collected at a national level and data shared with the community. There have not been any confirmed transmissions of coronavirus reported from untested donors. There are no reports of any transplant hospital transplanting known COVID-positive donors. Without further data, the risk of transplanting known COVID-positive donors prior to the development of a reliable treatment is unacceptably high.

AJT offers open access to papers dealing with COVID-19

In an effort to share accurate knowledge and experience during the COVID-19 outbreak, the American Journal of Transplantation is expediting review of all papers dealing with COVID-19 and providing free access to them for all.

Stay current

We will continue to update the UNOS COVID-19 resources page as guidance is developed and enhanced.
