Hope Act update

The HIV Organ Policy Equity Act, enacted on November 21, 2013, will allow for the development and publication of criteria for research relating to transplantation of organs from donors infected with HIV into individuals who are infected with HIV before receiving such organ.

Need help updating the infectious disease acceptance criteria on your candidate records?

We sent the following system notice to UNet users today (Wed. Aug. 12). Please read it carefully if your center needs UNOS to help you update the infectious disease acceptance criteria on your candidate records to reflect that you are NOT willing to accept an organ from a donor who is HBV NAT positive and/or HCV NAT positive.

Liver forum and committee update from David Mulligan, M.D., chair, OPTN/UNOS Liver Committee
