Living donor recovery hospitals and OPOs will commonly subtype a living or deceased donor’s primary blood type to see if there is an opportunity to allocate organs to a broader group of potential recipients. A new e-learning module (ELM) addresses the importance of ABO subtyping, highlights the related OPTN policy requirements, and discusses the decisions you must consider when allocating organs using ABO subtyping.

Are CEPTCs awarded?
You’ll receive .25 CEPTCs once you complete this ELM. In order to receive a certificate, you must also complete an evaluation and pass the assessment.
