UNOS and transplant professionals collaborate on enhancements to UNet during TMF 2021

For the third year in a row at UNOS’ Transplant Management Forum (TMF), transplant professionals partnered with UNOS’ information technology staff at their annual innovation event to identify UNet system enhancements. Critical input, provided by event’s attendees, helped UNOS develop solutions to make the system more efficient. UNOS is excited to announce three new enhancements to the UNet system:

Candidate date of birth has been added to the match results page and print match results, allowing for:

  • An additional patient identifier that supports patient safety.
  • More consistency with patient information found in EMRs.
  • Displays on match runs for all organ groups.
  • Displays blinded for potential transplant recipients not at your hospital.

Candidate social security number (SSN) has been added to the liver and kidney match results page and print match results, allowing for:

  • An additional patient identifier that supports patient safety.
  • Consistency with other organ group match runs that display SSN.
  • The continuation of blinded data for potential transplant recipients not at your hospital.

Users are now able to view the total number of organ offers on the Organ Offer Report in DonorNet®, including:

  • A display of the total count of organ offers per transplant program per month.
  • The total number of offers displays under organ group header.
  • A display showing when organ offer list is collapsed or expanded.

What you need to do

Although no action is needed from users, these enhancements should help to ensure a response for the intended potential recipient and efficiency when reviewing monthly organ offers with the total count displayed.
