Larry Sickles has been named director of tissue recovery services at Southwest Transplant Alliance (STA).
In this position, he will be responsible for the development of tissue operations and for cultivating relationships with tissue partners in STA’s Donation Service Area. Previously, he served as STA’s director of logistical operations, where he directed the complex series of logistics involved in the recovery and transportation of organs and tissue.
Before joining STA, Larry was the vice president of clinical services at LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, OK where he oversaw the clinical services team. In this position, he managed the call center and directed both organ and tissue recovery operations. Larry also managed the surgical recovery staff at LifeShare.
Larry has served in leadership roles at RTI Biologics in Alachua, FL and the Carolina Donor Services in Durham, NC. He began his career as an organ recovery coordinator at the Center for Organ Recovery and Education in Pittsburgh, PA.
Larry is a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) and is a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). He earned a Master of Business Administration in non-profit management and a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in information systems management from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA.
