Kidney transplant program primary program administrators, surgeons and physicians

Implementation date: May 20, 2020

At-a-glance statement

United Network for Organ Sharing will soon begin piloting phase II of an offer filters project that will allow kidney transplant programs to bypass donor offers they do not want to receive through custom-designed, multi-criteria filters.

In preparation for phase II, UNOS has created a model that identifies potentially effective filters for each kidney transplant program using 2018 and 2019 organ acceptance data. Kidney transplant programs will be able to use an interactive tool called the Offer Filters Explorer to see the effectiveness of the model-derived filters applied to 2018 and 2019 acceptance data. The Offer Filters Explorer tool and instructions will be available to all kidney transplant programs in the UNetSM data services portal on May 20.

Instructions on how to access the Offer Filters Explorer tool, as well as training on using the tool and instructions for UNet site administrators to grant user access to the tool, were sent in an email to kidney transplant program primary administrators, surgeons and physicians on May 18 and are published in a system notice on Secure Enterprise.
