UNOS launches new online membership forms to all labs and OPOs
Audience:

  • All histocompatibility lab directors, general supervisors, and data coordinators
  • All OPO administrative directors and data coordinators
  • UNet℠ Security Administrators for all histocompatibility labs and OPOs

At-a-glance

New fillable PDF forms for submitting organ procurement organization (OPO) and histocompatibility lab Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network membership materials are launching Jan. 28, 2021. They will be available in the Member Community application in Secure Enterprise℠.

OPO and histocompatibility lab’s UNet℠ Security Administrators must grant the appropriate lab staff permission to access the new Member Community application in order to access the new online forms. Learn more about how to apply for membership.

Background

Histocompatibility labs and OPOs use membership application materials to notify the OPTN of updates to their key personnel, as well as the OPTN Representatives and Alternate Representatives for their member organization. Historically, this has involved requesting documents from Membership through email, and then emailing the document back. The new online materials mean this step will no longer be necessary, but users must first be granted access by their Security Administrator.

Lack of access to the materials in the Member Community application in Secure Enterprise does not impact existing UNet access to Waitlist℠,DonorNet®, DonorNet Mobile℠,TIEDI® or TransNet℠.

What do OPO and lab professionals need to do?

Not everyone needs access to these materials. Only users who typically handle membership materials should request access. If you handle OPTN membership materials at your lab and require access, contact your UNet Security Administrator and ask them to grant you permission to access the new link to the Member Community application. They will be able to grant you access to Member Community starting Jan. 20. The online form will be available beginning Jan. 28.

If you are unsure of your UNet Security Administrator, call the UNet Help Desk at 1-800-978-4334 or email [email protected].

The permission only has to be assigned once. Once you have permission, you may access the application in the Secure Enterprise portal via a new link called “Member Community.”

What do UNet Security Administrators need to do?

Only UNet Security Administrators are able to give select OPO and histocompatibility lab staff permission to access the new Member Community application in Secure Enterprise. Access should only be granted to those who typically handle Membership applications.

In order to grant users access to the tool, you will need to create a new group to add these individuals. Select the new “Member Community” tab of the Security Administration application within Secure Enterprise and find a new permission, “Grant Membership Community Access.” This allows you to add designated users of the online tool. The permission only has to be assigned once.
