LifeShare is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerome Menendez as Executive Director. In his new role, Jerome serves as the Chief Executive Officer of LifeShare, assuming authority for administrative and leadership functions as well as supervision of the established organizational plan. He will also be responsible for ongoing communication with the Board of Directors.
He began his donation career with LifeShare in 1994 and later worked as an Organ Recovery Coordinator with two other organ procurement organizations. As his career progressed, he has served in various transplant-related positions including Transplant Coordinator, Transplant Manager, Director and Assistant Vice President. Most recently, Jerome served as the Director of the Liver Transplant Program at Carolinas Medical Center.
Jerome holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University and is also a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He is engaged with several organ donation and transplantation groups, most notably as a registered lecturer for NATCO, the Organization for Transplant Professionals. Jerome replaces Lisa McCanna who was promoted to a new position within Carolinas HealthCare System, LifeShare’s parent organization.
