At a Glance

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, TransNetSM users will have the ability to package and label Vascularized Composite Allograft (VCA) organs within the TransNet system. Read policy notice.

Details

The TransNet team will release version 5.6, which allows OPOs to package and label VCA organs with their Android and iOS applications. TransNet will allow up to three VCAs to be packaged together in the same sterile bag or as three separate sterile bags inside the same VCA package. To access the new functionality:

  1. Select the Case Menu in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Then, select VCA Packaging.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Scan shipping label 4 to enter the destination of the package with the VCA organs. Once complete, be sure to close and submit the case information to UNOS.

Note: The TransNet training site will be updated on October 25.

Upcoming Training

In advance of the release, UNOS will offer a training module on TransNet VCA. Instructional content will cover each section of the VCA page in the TransNet application. The training will be accessible on UNOS Connect on October 18. We will send a separate training announcement soon.
