Florida Hospital is pleased to announce Barry Friedman has been named the senior administrative director of the Transplant Institute. Friedman will be responsible for providing administrative, regulatory and fiscal oversight of all solid organ transplant and mechanical circulatory support programs.
Prior to joining Florida Hospital, Friedman worked at Minnesota International Medicine and the University of Minnesota Medical Center/University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserve, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service.
Friedman is a member of the American Society of Transplantation, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, UNOS and NATCO.
Florida Hospital’s Transplant Institute offers kidney, liver, kidney/pancreas, lung and heart transplants and VAD’s. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest kidney transplant programs, with more than 160 kidney transplants performed annually.
