At its annual Connect conference, held this year on Nov. 17 in Paris, Talend selected UNOS for its highest level of recognition—a grand prize in its Data Masters awards.
Talend, a global leader in cloud and big-data integration software, created the awards to recognize unique and innovative ways companies are using data to transform their businesses.
UNOS was recognized for reducing the time required for data-integration tasks from 18 hours to three or four. The reduction was the result of UNOS’ “ROO report,” which allows transplant centers nationwide to have more up-to-date insight on organs transplanted over the last three months, which can lead to better decision- making—and more saved lives. In fact, Talend at UNOS is ushering in a new era of data integration, product delivery and modernization and the ROO report is just the first example.
Accepting the award on behalf of UNOS was IT’s lead architect/developer Talend data integration specialist Jamie Sutphin. Fluent in French, he also was invited to give a talk at the conference on the changes Talend is making at UNOS.
Nineteen Data Masters awards were given, and UNOS was one of only four grand prize winners.
