At-a-glance

DonorNet® updates scheduled for Dec. 15, 2020, have been delayed as a result of the postponement of implementation of policies to remove donation service area (DSA) and region from kidney and pancreas allocation. These changes would have affected how electronic organ offer limits would be applied for kidney, kidney-pancreas/pancreas and intestine matches in a distance-based allocation system.

What you need to do

If changes were made in anticipation of the updates, organ procurement organizations should reevaluate their current “local” organ offer notification limit settings in DonorNet and determine if any updates are appropriate. Kidney and pancreas allocation will remain DSA-based until further notice.
