Implementation date: Dec. 10

At-a-glance

A new application programming interface (API) released by United Network for Organ Sharing on Dec. 10 enables UNet users to retrieve and submit liver lab data for a liver transplant candidate without having to log into UNet, navigate to WaitlistSM, and update the data manually. Previously, UNet users needed to log into Waitlist to view and update liver lab data.

Additional details

With the new API functionality, information systems within the transplant community can be designed to accommodate flexible user workflows around liver lab data submissions. When integrated within members’ existing electronic health record systems, the new functionality will save time, reduce user burden, and increase data quality.

To read more about UNOS’ APIs and learn how they help the transplant community, visit the API webpage. Additional information about UNOS’ APIs and developer documentation can be found in the UNOS API Developer Portal.
