Ethan and I were together for 86 wonderful months, and during his Donor Journey, Ethan directly changed the lives of 86 recipients through his gifts of organ, tissue and eye donation. Ethan was an avid sailor, and introduced me to the world of sailing. Ethan wanted to be an organ donor long before I knew him, ever since he was a young child. His choice to be a donor brought his family and me more peace and comfort than any of us could have ever imagined. You never fully recover from the loss of a loved one, and grief is a lifelong journey, but being a part of the donor family community has been meaningful and comforting beyond words. Ethan’s memory will live on forever in our hearts, as well as in the lives of all those he touched with the gifts that helped save lives, restore health and give hope to so many.
