Danny was a three sport high school athlete, who especially excelled in wrestling in our small town of Bergenfield, NJ. He went onto wrestle at Ursinus College. His college advisor said he understood the intrinsic value of life, “ to enjoy the beauty around you, have fun with friends and family and appreciate the good things.” So when he made the decision to become an organ donor it wasn’t a surprise to me. I myself am a bone marrow transplant recipient. My children grew up understanding the importance of transplant and had been donating blood since they were 16. Danny died on January 30, 2012, he saved many lives including that of his little league coach who received his liver.
