Melissa Lane, MBA

Melissa Lane manages nearly 40 staff members and is responsible for the leadership and direction of all areas of the Organ Center, Patient Services and Help Desk. She oversees daily operations, performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives. The Organ Center is staffed around the clock, 365 days a year, to assist member organizations with organ allocation, transportation and maintenance of the national transplant waiting list. The Patient Services team is available to provide support and resources to patients, potential candidates, donors and their families, and potential living donors. The Help Desk provides support and serves as a resource to OPTN members on all UNet applications.

Lane has held roles of increasing responsibility since joining UNOS in 2003 as an organ placement specialist. She earned a B.S. in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MBA from Longwood University.
