When I was approached about organ donation for my brother Lonnie, I did not hesitate to say yes. Lonnie was a very giving person who would give to others before thinking of himself. Therefore organ donation was another symbolic way for him to give to others. I found comfort through donation as well, knowing others lives were changed because of his gift. Because of the sense of community and shared experiences I became an advocate for organ donation and share my story with others.
