Jake Kouns, MBA

Jake Kouns is a seasoned executive, entrepreneur and expert in technology, information security and cybersecurity. He is the founder of the mid-Atlantic information security conference RVAsec and the founder of Risk Based Security, which specialized in vulnerability and data breach intelligence, and was acquired by the security firm Flashpoint in 2022. He’s held information security positions with Markel Corporation and Capital One.

Kouns earned an MBA with a concentration in Information Security and a B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University. He has held multiple professional certifications and regularly presents on information security.
