Effective May 6, 2020, a transplant program reactivating a liver transplant candidate to a MELD or PELD status in Waitlist is no longer required to input updated lab values to support the listing.

On Feb. 18, a variance will be implemented to improve timely access to donors for candidates listed as Status 1A, Status 1B, or with a MELD or PELD score of 37 or higher in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Coming soon: Change to the Organ Offer Acceptance Limit

The number of offers a transplant hospital may accept per transplant candidate will be reduced from two to one on May 29, 2024. This change applies to all organ types except for pancreas islets. 

Upcoming change to TransNet user management and access

Site security administrators must set permissions for their TransNet users in Security Administration prior to June 5, 2024. 

Coming soon: CPRA >98% form removal for highly sensitized candidates

Transplant hospitals will no longer be required to obtain signatures and update candidate registrations when a candidate’s CPRA is above 98%. There are no changes needed for OPOs.
