The UNOS Ethics Committee has issued a white paper entitled, “An Ethical Analysis Examining the Continuation of Living Donor Transplantation During the COVID-19 Pandemic.” It provides ethical perspectives for transplant program and hospital management to consider in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as potential future situations that may similarly affect decisions on providing living donor transplantation.
The article is posted in a new Ethics section of the UNOS website. Additional committee white papers are planned and will be published to this section as they are completed.
The white paper has also been submitted for journal review.
