As part of an ongoing data quality initiative, UNOS identified many active donor hospital records that were missing required time zone and daylight savings time data. We have updated all affected records with the required information.
What you need to do
You are not required to take further action on the information UNOS has supplied. However, you may wish to review updated records as an additional quality action. We also recommend that each OPO take this opportunity to perform an audit of their active donor hospitals and verify that all of following fields contain complete and accurate information:
- Hospital Display Name
- Provider ID Number
- Street Address
- City
- State
- ZIP
- Status
- Does this donor hospital need to be an available option when adding a new donor? (Organ Donor Potential)
- Time Zone
- Is Daylight Savings Time observed?
Additional details
If you find any mistakes, please update the hospital records with correct information. If you identify inaccurate address information, please contact UNOS Customer Service for assistance. They will be able to help you with updates to ensure the location information is accurate. Donor hospital location is an important part of the match algorithms.

To make your review of these data easier, we have added the time zone and daylight savings time fields to the view of your donor hospital list in DonorNet. You can view the whole list on one page by clicking the “Show all results” link. At the bottom of the page on the right hand side, you will also find a link to Export the data into a tab delimited file.
