Organ donors are giving the gift of life to others as theirs comes to an end. That selfless act is a work of God himself. Throughout her life my mother gave so much to others. She gave love, laughter, support, and compassion. It came as no surprise to those who knew her that her final wish was to give others a chance at life through organ donation.
My mom suffered from a mass preventing her ability to breathe and was ultimately placed on life support. When it became apparent that she would not be returning to us as we knew and loved her, her wish to be an organ donor was honored. She was the best. She was unbelievable. We are truly blessed to have had her in our life. She was a mother. She was a wife. She was a grandmother. She was a daughter. She was a sister. She was an aunt. She is now a hero.
