UNOS expands leadership team

February 28, 2024, Richmond, VA

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) announced today it has promoted Tina Rhoades to director of patient and member relations.

Rhoades, who had been serving has assistant director of the team, will be responsible for ensuring that the organ donation and transplant community is engaged and prepared for changes to the system, as well as developing and strengthening relationships with key community stakeholders, including patients, families, and industry professionals and societies.

“There are a lot of moving parts that make the donation and transplant system work so patients can get the lifesaving transplants they need, and Tina has been instrumental in engaging the community to make the system stronger,” said Tony Ponsiglione, chief people officer at UNOS. “Her leadership and relationships have encouraged the transplant community to participate in meaningful ways that drive improvements and help patients.”

Since joining UNOS in 2011, Rhoades has served in a variety of roles focused on patient safety and policy development. Prior to joining UNOS, she served in several clinical nursing roles and is a licensed registered nurse. Rhoades graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in nursing.
