The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) has hired Lisa Martinez as its vice president of business development and has promoted Amy Putnam to director of its project management office (PMO).
As the leader of the business development team, Martinez will oversee the organization’s strategic business development, creating and executing enterprise-level plans and processes to support UNOS’s role as a leader in health services, insights and innovations. She’ll also be responsible for the development and growth of new products and service lines.
Martinez joins UNOS with two decades of experience in health care business strategy, having held leadership positions with Lee Health and AARP. Martinez has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University and an MBA from Clark University.
“Our team has a wide range of expertise and experience in innovation in both the transplant system and in health care,” said Ryan Ehrensberger, chief strategy officer for UNOS. “Lisa’s leadership will be key in leading existing and launching new business streams and products that will help strengthen the transplant and health care system on behalf of patients.”
Currently UNOS’ director of IT customer advocacy, Putnam has been promoted to director of the newly formed PMO, where she’ll be responsible for implementing and overseeing the PMO structures, portfolio management approaches, and best practice methodologies to ensure the successful delivery of projects and programs.
“Amy is a proven and respected leader at UNOS who not only understands the transplant industry, but the impact our work has on patients and donor families,” said Dale Smith, chief financial officer for UNOS. “Her insights on patients will ensure priority projects are completed successfully, while also meeting the company’s mission to strengthening the system on behalf of all patients.”
Putnam joined UNOS in 2006 and has held a variety of leadership positions within the organization. She holds an MSW and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
