Anthony Coelho

As Director of Enterprise Technology, Anthony Coelho leads the enterprise architecture and technology teams behind UNOS’ cloud, integration and infrastructure services. They build and operate the underlying platform for UNOS products and services, including UNet, the technology at the core of the nation’s organ donation and transplant system. With more than 25 years of engineering and technology leadership experience, Coelho has helped shape UNOS’ modern technology blueprint. He architected the API gateway that supports direct integration with the electronic medical record and donor management systems used by organ procurement organizations and transplant hospitals, and established the cloud foundation that enables the OPTN and UNOS solutions to operate securely and reliably at national scale.

Coelho’s connection to UNOS’ mission is rooted in healthcare. Through close personal connections to pediatric medicine and transplant care, he developed a lasting appreciation for the patients, families, clinicians and care teams touched by transplantation, inspiring him to apply his passion for engineering and technology to systems that support the transplant community.

Earlier in his career, Coelho was founder and Chief Architect of Conscendo Consulting, where he led large-scale Azure cloud modernization work with GEICO. He also served as Vice President at Alliance Global Services, where he managed technology delivery for Shire, Merial and other healthcare and biopharmaceutical organizations.
