Team to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on World Kidney Day: March 9, 2023
Thirty-two living kidney and liver donors, a transplant surgeon, two recipients, and supporters will summit Mount Kilimanjaro on World Kidney Day, March 9, 2023, to raise awareness for living organ donation and support for the UNOS mission.
Learn about Living Donor Adventures
Fifteen of the climbers already donated an organ. Some gave their lifesaving gift to someone they knew, others to a stranger. All gave another person a new lease on life.
In 2022, more than 6,400 transplants were made possible by living donors.
