TRANSPLANT SURGEON – ABDOMINAL

The Thomas Starzl Transplant Program at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center  is seeking applicants for a position in the Division of Transplant Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor Non-tenure stream.  The successful candidate will be an abdominal multi-organ transplant surgeon to support the growth and goals of an academic transplant program.  We seek an outstanding candidate who has a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence.  The clinical emphasis of the position will include cadaveric and living donor kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, pancreas transplantation and laparoscopic nephrectomy.

Applicants must be ABS eligible and have completed the American Society of Transplant Surgery multi-organ training.  A commitment to teaching, institutional leadership and advocacy is necessary.

In addition, candidates should have at minimum:

10 years of abdominal transplant experience post fellowship

Ability to independently perform:

-Kidney transplants

-Pancreas transplants

-Liver transplants

-Deceased donor kidney procurements

-Living donor kidney procurements

-Deceased donor liver procurements

-Deceased donor pancreas procurements

Ability to assist with living donor liver procurements
