President and Chief Executive Officer

Website LifeCenter Northwest

LifeCenter Northwest (LCNW) located in Bellevue, Washington, in partnership with WittKieffer, seeks a dynamic executive to serve as its next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  As the non-profit organ procurement organization serving Alaska, Montana, North Idaho, and Washington, LCNW works collaboratively with more than 200 hospitals to save lives through organ and tissue donation. This is a rare opportunity to join a successful organ procurement organization (OPO) with a strong national reputation, driven by an extraordinary mission and a dedicated collaborative workforce. LCNW has been ranked as a Tier 1 performer, in the top 25 percent of OPOs nationally, by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). LCNW is recognized by its various partners and collaborators as a leader in innovation and performance excellence. This also an outstanding opportunity to live and enjoy the Puget Sound area and the great Northwest and all it has to offer for outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts.

LCNW’s mission is to help as many donor families and transplant candidates as possible, by continually increasing the number of organ donors, organs transplanted, and tissue donors in its service area, in the most cost-effective and the highest quality manner possible. With this mission in mind, the next Chief Executive Officer, in concert with the Governing Board of Directors (Board), will chart the course of the organization and develop future short- and long-range strategic plans. The CEO represents the organization in the organ and tissue donation and transplant community, ensuring effective engagement with the organization’s key stakeholders, including donor hospitals, transplant programs, other donation partners, and the public. Working closely with the executive team, this leader provides broad executive management necessary to generate continuous performance improvement and ensure achievement of organizational goals.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished leader to join LCNW as they strive to increase organ and tissue donations to save lives. LCNW seeks a mission‑driven leader who will ensure continued focus on honoring the gifts made by donors and their families and increasing the availability of organs for patients awaiting a life-saving transplant. The CEO will inherit a passionate and committed staff that has a drive to collectively harness their individual talents for the continued success of LCNW and the benefit of those it serves.

The ideal next CEO will be an innovative executive with a natural curiosity for the trends/developments inherent in the healthcare, life sciences, and related technology/instrumentation market segments. This leader will bring confidence and business-building acumen. In addition, the CEO will exhibit the inspirational demeanor required of a leader navigating a changing industry.

Ultimately, this CEO will have the opportunity to articulate and reinforce, both internally and externally, the LCNW story. The CEO will be a transformational leader, and communicate compelling long-term strategic goals that engage and motivate the entire organization, its hospital partners, affiliates, and all other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in healthcare with a demonstrated track record of leading a significant portfolio of responsibility within a complex, tightly regulated environment

This opportunity is available due to the upcoming retirement of Kevin O’Connor, who has served as LifeCenter’s CEO for 12 years. The next CEO of LCNW will be succeeding a tenured and successful leader.
