How we can improve UNOS systems to make things easier for you?

Transplant and donation professionals, we know that you perform many roles as you go about your busy day. If you are known as a “problem solver” or “efficiency expert,” we’d like to hear from you.

Even better, join us for a UNOS innovation event. We are looking for transplant and donation professionals to uncover problems, resolve difficulties and devise solutions.

Interested in an upcoming collaboration? Contact UNOS IT Customer Liaison Tara Taylor (804-782-4902 or [email protected]) for more information.

UNOS began hosting innovation events in 2016, at the Association for Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and NATCO (The Organization for Transplant Professionals) annual meetings. Many thanks to transplant hospital and OPO community participants in the NATCO Innovation Event this past August for coming up with these ideas.

OPO coordinators, have you ever been in the operating room during a living donation and thought “wouldn’t it be great if there was an easy way to package and label living donor organs?”
OPO users with the latest version of TransNet (5.8.0) can do just that.

Did you create a really great custom report in WaitlistSM and want an easy way to share it with your coworkers?
Done. When creating a report, simply indicate that you would like it to be a shareable report and fellow coworkers will be able to search for and run the report.

Do you work for a transplant center and need to find a donor on the Organ Offer Report in DonorNet® but cannot remember the month the donation occurred? Does it normally take you hours of digging for that needle in a haystack? There must be an easier way!
There is, thanks to the newly-added Donor ID search capability on the Organ Offer Report.

In addition to these three projects, we are currently working to solve an additional need discovered during the event.

Do you ever hit a roadblock when sending out an electronic organ offer in DonorNet® due to entering an end sequence number that is beyond the maximum?  Would it be better if you were informed of the maximum sequence number allowed on the same page that you are entering the information on?
We agree! We are currently working on a fix. We will let you know when it is available.
