Daryl Chesley, Ed.D.

Director of Professional Education

Daryl Chesley joined UNOS in 2015 as Director of Professional Education. In this senior-level position, Chesley is responsible for creating and maintaining an overall instructional strategy for achieving UNOS’ mission and for leading the development of high-quality professional, patient and community instructional initiatives for the transplant community. Among his more specific responsibilities are developing and evaluating work processes and resources to ensure consistency in instructional practice, using data to evaluate instructional program effectiveness and community impact, and developing entrepreneurial and innovative instructional approaches to ensure financial success.

Chesley comes to UNOS from Caroline County Public Schools in Bowling Green, Va., where he was director of instruction, previously serving as assistant superintendent for instructional leadership in Hanover County Public Schools in Ashland, Va. He also served as principal of James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, Va., and as adjunct faculty at The George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., and at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

He currently serves on the board of directors for the Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Chesley earned a doctoral degree in educational administration and policy studies as well an educational specialist degree (a post-master’s degree) at GWU. He also earned a master’s degree in education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., and an undergraduate degree from Villanova University in Villanova, Pa.
