Director, Community Affairs
Marcia Manning was appointed Director of Community Affairs in 2001. She is responsible for planning and directing community outreach activities to enhance awareness of the UNOS mission of increasing organ donation. She is also responsible for targeting education programs in selected communities.
For six years prior to being named director, Ms. Manning held the position of Policy Analyst in the the Department of Membership and Policy Allocation serving as staff liaison to the Minority Affairs, Pediatric, and Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation Committees.
Before joining UNOS, Ms. Manning spent more than 20 years in medical social work and policy development in both state and public arenas.
Ms. Manning earned a B.A. in Humanities and Education from Virginia Union University, an M.S.W. from Norfolk State University Graduate School of Social Work, and an M.B.A. from Marymount University of Virginia.
