LAS Calculator

The LAS Calculator provided on this site functions according to the formula approved by the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors, which is used by the OPTN match system in allocating lungs.

The following data elements are used in determining the LAS:

  • Lung diagnosis
  • Date of birth
  • New York Heart Association Class
  • Assisted ventilation
  • Height and weight
  • Diabetes
  • Supplemental oxygen
  • Percent predicted FVC
  • Six minute walk distance
  • Serum creatinine
  • Pulmonary artery systolic pressure
  • Mean pulmonary artery pressure
  • Pulmonary capillary wedge mean
