The LAS Calculator provided on this site functions according to the formula approved by the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors, which is used by the OPTN match system in allocating lungs.
The following data elements are used in determining the LAS:

- Date of birth
- New York Heart Association Class
- Assisted ventilation
- Height and weight
- Diabetes
- Supplemental oxygen
- Percent predicted FVC
- Six minute walk distance
- Serum creatinine
- Pulmonary artery systolic pressure
- Mean pulmonary artery pressure
- Pulmonary capillary wedge mean
