Art Thomson, M.A., is administrative director of the transplant center at Cleveland Clinic and director of its departments of general surgery and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery.

He has served in various OPTN/UNOS capacities over the past 10 years, including chair and vice chair of the OPTN/UNOS transplant administrators committee. He has been a member of the OPTN/UNOS membership and professional standards committee and its policy compliance subcommittee. He also was a faculty member of HRSA's Transplant Growth and Management Collaborative.

In addition to his OPTN/UNOS and HRSA service, he is on the board of Second Chance Trust Fund and the editorial board of Progress in Transplantation; he also is a senior consultant to the Transplant Management Group.

Thomson earned a master's degree in public administration from Ohio State University in Columbus. He also earned the designation of certified public accountant (non-practicing).
