Mary A. Carpenter is a program control accountant with Northrop Grumman Information Technology which has its headquarters in McLean, Va.

She has served on the OPTN/ UNOS ethics committee.

Carpenter is an advisory board member of TransLife and a member of the membership committee for the Florida Coalition on Donation. She also is a member of the Team Florida committee of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF-FL) of Florida, having previously served as chair (Team Florida competes in the NKF's U.S. Transplant Games). She has been a trustee on the NKF-FL board and on its patient and public education and minority outreach committees. She has served as editor of the NKF's National Donor Family Council's newsletter, For Those Who Give and Grieve.

She is a donor mother.
