Paul E. Morrissey, M.D., is associate professor of surgery at Brown Medical School in Providence, R.I.

He is a member of the OPTN/UNOS membership and professional standards (MPSC) committee and its policy compliance subcommittee and previously served on the MPSC performance metrics work group. He also has been on the OPTN/UNOS organ procurement organization committee, including a term as chair.

In addition to his OPTN/UNOS service, he has been assistant medical director of New England Organ Bank. Dr. Morrissey also has been an early leader in the promotion and formulation of policies on donation after cardiac death (DCD).

Dr. Morrissey earned his medical degree at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.
