Stuart Sweet

Stuart C. Sweet, M.D., Ph.D., is medical director of the pediatric lung transplant program at St. Louis Children's Hospital and associate professor of pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Sweet serves on the OPTN/UNOS thoracic organ transplantation committee and is the former chair of the OPTN/UNOS pediatric transplantation committee. He has been on the OPTN/UNOS membership and professional standards committee (MPSC) as well as its data subcommittee and its joint work group on MPSC process improvement. He additionally has served on the OPTN/UNOS policy oversight committee.

In addition to his OPTN/UNOS service, he is on the board of directors of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) and served as co-chair of its pediatric council. He also has served on the medical affairs committee of Mid-America Transplant Services.

He earned his doctorate in cellular and molecular biology and his medical degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
